About

Jamie Wolfeld at the DOC NYC documentary festival

Jamie Wolfeld is a London-based cinematographer and filmmaker with over a decade of experience across documentary, branded content, live music and music videos. His work combines a strong visual instinct with a curiosity about people, places and the systems that shape their lives.

Drawn to social, humanitarian and environmental stories, Jamie has filmed across Europe, Asia and South America, from rainforests to refugee camps. He brings an adaptable, collaborative approach to each project, finding the balance between carefully crafted images and knowing when to follow the unexpected.

His first feature documentary as Director of Photography, Our Land, was directed by long term collaborator Orban Wallace and supported by the BFI Doc Society Fund. It world premiered at Sheffield DocFest in 2025, followed by its international premiere at DOC NYC and further selections at CPH and Leeds International Film Festival. Distributed by MetFilm, it opened at number seven at the UK box office and has played in more than 200 UK cinemas.

Jamie’s directing work also extends into fiction. His debut short, I, Scream, was made in a week for the Tiny Oscars challenge in response to the brief “the element of surprise”. It won two awards from sixty entries, including the Audience Choice Award.

He is currently directing his debut feature documentary, Rising Up, following the players, coaches and community figures fighting to build a future for British basketball. Through their ambitions and everyday lives, the film explores identity, opportunity and belonging.

Jamie is the founder of Old Oak Film, working with filmmakers, charities and brands to tell stories with purpose, personality and a sense of adventure.
